They are huge asset to any ward they are in. Service Projects Each month this year we will be scheduling a service project. There will be 4 major service projects with smaller projects during the other 8 months. Come help us provide meaningful service to those who need help in our community. Upcoming Service Projects Alamo 1st Ward Activities Open to singles ages 18 - 30 must have graduated from high school residing in Hill Country, North, East and San Antonio Stake boundaries, but no young single adult will be turned away. Young single adults living within the West Stake boundaries have activities planned through Alamo 2nd Ward but are welcomed at Alamo 1st activities also.
Young married couples invited, but no children please. Refreshments, volleyball, basketball, socializing follow. Non-member friends are also always welcome.
There's plenty of space and a good amount of people in each ward the building serves. I can feel the Spirit here and I know anyone who comes here searching will find what they're Yohng for antonlo the hand of the Lord and His servants. The building is larger than most LDS churches because it offers a number of unique activities. On Sundays the building functions as a traditional meetinghouse with regular worship services. On other days of the week there are bible study activities called Institute for young single adults.
There is a family history center which serves to connect the general community with microfilms, online records and experts in genealogy. Often there are special events to host visiting representatives from Salt Lake, the annual Messiah performance and a Boy Scout of America fundraiser. I currently attend Institute classes here, and the Institute program is great. One of the biggest in Texas if I'm not mistaken.
